I’m going to guess it was garage stored and rarely driven in winter. The headlights aren’t even that yellow!

Known in the U.K. as the Vauxhall Frontera.
Absolute bag of shite. Rust and unreliability were it’s thing.
Mind that looks like the later version which improved somewhat but the damage was done and very few sold.

NP! My dad has a 2002, and it’s been great. The last of them had a decent look while not getting too large. I miss Isuzu.

They were pretty reliable in the U.S. but rust destroyed them. I am sure they would have had a diffent engine for the U.K. market.

That’s a pretty good price - I worked with a lady that had a burgundy colored one of those for a while. It ate shocks but otherwise was solid. Not much headroom though...

Just not much good about them.
The three door had seats that folded up but had a three inch gap underneath when down so stuff slid underneath all the time.
The wheel carrier often rusted into position. The engines were large but just unreliable as was the drivetrain.

Good lord , I would love to own that. But I already have a Grand Cherokee in the driveway, and she gets jealous.
I do have a... whim? fantasy ? of building up an inexpensive 4wd and driving down to Patagonia with my boys. As far as sourcing parts in an emergency would be concerned, is probably do better with a 4Ru nner, but I have a soft spot for the Rodeo.

Hard to believe no rust in Wisconsin....
It’s amazing what proper care does for how a vehicle holds up.
